On Friday Dr. Evan Lederman appeared on ABC 15 "Sonoran Living Live" to speak about Arthritis and the 20th Annual GlitzGlamGive Gala benefiting The Arthritis Foundation! Through his dedication for treating and helping patients with Arthritis live their best life possible and his support of the Arthritis Foundation, Dr. Lederman has been named the medical Honoree by The Arthritis Foundation.

Event proceeds will support research for a cure for arthritis - the nation’s leading cause of disability affecting more than 50 million adults and 300,000 children.

TOCA is pleased to announce that Dr David S Bailie M.D. is a principal investigator of an investigational shoulder replacement device.

TOCA is pleased to announce that Dr David S Bailie M.D. is a principal investigator of an investigational shoulder replacement device.  The study is sponsored by Biomet Orthopedics (Warsaw IN), a major US manufacturer and distributor of orthopedic total joint implants and sports medicine devices.  The device, which was released in Europe last year, is being investigated at 12 centers in the US under an FDA-regulated study in order to compare the investigational device to the standard, currently available shoulder replacement.  The investigational device is currently not available for use outside of this study.  Dr. Bailie has been involved in this project for several years and has worked with Biomet on the technology, in collaboration with 3 other surgeons in the US and Canada.  He is proud to offer his patients, who are candidates for shoulder replacement, the opportunity to participate, should they meet the inclusion criteria set forth by the study protocol.  Dr. Bailie is the only surgeon west of Memphis, TN approved to use this device and participate in this study until the study is completed.  To learn more about this study and the risks associated therewith, and determine whether you may be a candidate, please call Dr. Bailie at The Orthopedic Clinic www.SportsMeddoc.com or by calling 602-277-6211.

Congratulations to Dr. Kostas Economopoulos!

Congratulations to Dr. Kostas Economopoulos! He was asked by US Rugby to be the overseeing physician for their under 19 national team tryouts that took place from December 26th until Dec 31st.  The tryouts included 200 under 19 year old males attempting to make the US National Rugby team that competes all over the world.  Dr. Economopoulos and several other trainers and physical therapists were in charge of taking care of the bumps, bruises, breaks and concussions that go with rugby. Luckily, there were no major injuries during our week of tryouts.  He was asked to be the team doctor for the event because of his background of taking care of teams and young athletes in addition to His love for rugby. Dr. Economopoulos will have a chance to travel with the team to their international meets in the upcoming year.
